Folks,
I just bought one each of the new Spyderco Bob Lum Chinese Folders in black and satin blades. I was planning to put one away and EDC the other, but now I can't decide which to carry and which to store. They both look amazing in their own ways. Your opinions would be appreciated.

(btw, my picture sucks. I can't begin to explain how the green flats give off a subtle iridescent glow.)

I voted for the satin but now that I think of it I think you should EDC the black coated one. That is, if you're planning on keeping one for collecting purposes. I think satin blades in general hold more collector appeal.

The design is cool and collector's love them but, I have found them to be one of the most uncomfortable knives to use

I'm not sure exactly what coating Syderco uses on the Lum, but I have found that most black blades scuff and scratch with use and end up looking pretty rough. I would keep the black blade on the shelf and use the more durable satin one.

I voted based upon what I would rather EDC before I read your question. If buying one I would opt for the satin finish. If I owned both I would EDC the black coated version because I wouldn't care as much if it became scuffed.

The faster sales of the satin finish from on-line retailers seems to indicate that people prefer the satin finish so I would place it in the safe and use the coated variant.
