Just something simple but I'm making things now that I'm just barely not ashamed to have it known I made them. :D

Also who should I use to make me some of the electroetching stencils?

Thanks!

I like the clean one on the right. The sprocket is a bit busy to me, and the lettering is unique enough to be recognizable without it.

Another vote for the simpler one.

I like the marks on my customs to be present but unobtrusive.

Right one for knives.
Left kinda busy for me, would look good on a robot or mechanical shop.

They both look like some kind of "certification" mark. To me, they're too impersonal.

I wouldn't use initials unless you've got something unique in that regard. I've got four names, I thought about marking my stuff JCRD, but in the end I just went with my last name and I'm happy I did.

As far as getting stencils, I can highly recommend Ernie Grospitch of Blue Lightening Stencils. He got my art work, and stencils turned around and out the next day even after revisions, when I was in a hurry, and he managed to make a great tiny stencil for my small slipjoints, that don't burn-out.

I suggest just keeping it simple as possible. Use your name maybe your first name , maybe your state , maybe your city and state. Make it easy for the people who are looking at it to know what it means. I don't really like to have to figure out what a symbol means and many times for I want take the effort to look any further

The first thing i noticed are the similarities between the logos of tuffknives and tactical keychains. They both have TK inside a circle. Although the font is different.

Given the choice of the two, I'd pick the right one.

Personally, I use a makers mark (my avatar) AND my first initial and last name. Every knife gets the latter. Not all get the mark.

I agree, the one on the right. More simple and easy on the eye.
As for your stencils, I just got mine from Patricia @ IMG and she was GREAT to work with through the entire process.

just scrolled back up after reading this thread and immediately the one on the right stands out as crisp and clear. the left one looks cluttered by comparison.

The one on the left is too busy, I like the one on the right it's clear maybe a small embellishment to it might make it unique?

I like the right. Your eye is directed to the letters. On the left your eye is directed to the sprocket.
