Which makes a better chopper and is a better overall wilderness blade, the Becker C/U 7 or the Companion?

My vote goes to the C/U-7...
I have used it in the bush almost every weekend and it has done a fine job! if I need to do alot of chopping I go to my Becker patrol mechete, now that dog hunts...:D

Does anyone else find the sheath of the Becker Patrol machete really noisy? The blade seems to rattle around in there like a miniature thunder storm. I'm not in the stealth warfare business, but it seems like that kind of noise is the last thing you'd want on "patrol".

Any workarounds?

I only have a Companion, and It makes a great chopper,
I've cut-up everthing from 1/2" sticks to 4" logs (for firewood).
Since I don't have both I don't know which is "best" the
C/U 7 is a little lighter then the Companion I think
(I think the BK2 is 20, and the BK7 is 12), but
the BK7 is longer, So It may equalize the deal. either way
you will be VERY happy! You may want to think about the
two different kinds of sheaths they come with.
