Which manix 2 do I use?

I buy two of the same knives so that I can use one hard and have a back-up. I usually pick the one that has the most problems to use hard, and I put up the one that's in the best condition. So help me.

The first manix has slight blade play, but not really enough to notice unless you try. The lockup is early on it and the action is smooth as butter.

The second has no blade play at all, but the ball bearing engages almost all the way into the blade. Also the ball bearing sticks a little when you try to disengage the lock.

So which one do I use, and which do I put up?

One of the "Problems" I have with the which one to use queston is I too tend to use the lesser of the two then often times end up selling the second one which is the better one so I seldom have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of my efforts by using the best of two identical knives that "I" paid for.

I'm starting to fix that trend now but it has happened to me many times already. Shame.

I plead guilty as well. :(

This may sound a bit snobbish and I apologize for that, but why make a safe queen of a regularly available production knife? What I'm really saying is that I think you should use them both.

which ever one you "don't" use, i will hold on and take care of for you.
let me know when you decide.

I do it so that when I eventually have worn one manix 2 out, I can just chunk it then get the other manix fresh out of the box. That would take years, of course. Or it might never wear out at all.

I actually tried to get some wear on one of those. I gave up. You may be able to trash the looks, or break or chip the blade, but it's not going to just wear out anytime this decade.
