Which Manix would you choose?

Just curious , which Manix2 would you choose : blurple G10/S110V or CF/Composite CPM154/S90V ?

It's to be carried socially (heading out at night , etc,). Not at work.

I'm sure I'll eventually get both. But I'm just wondering which you guys would pick and why.

If I Had a choice and a wish it would be the not yet announced or released or even considered to be made choice of Starburst Titanium with either S90V or S110V. Lol

However, if it was only between the 2 you mentioned it would be the CF version if its full CF and not peel-ply.

Maxamet Manix...
Orange S90v Manix
Cruware.
110v

In that order
because of the steel

If it is strictly a "social" knife, that will see light cutting, then go with the carbon fiber for the "dressy" aspect.

Don't forget, there is the Gayle Bradley Air in CF/M4 wharncliffe and a more generally socially acceptable size.

Peel-ply is solid or full CF.

I'm leaning toward the CF/Composite blade even though it's $100 more than the blurple G10/S110v. But I really like both.

Not sure how I'd feel about the defined line between the CPM154 and S90V on the blade. I guess it doesn't really matter. Kinda looks like a hamon on a katana.

This whole thing got started because recently I have been using my old Manix2 for work and I forgot how much I like the knife. So I thought I'd get a new one with upgraded steel and handle for carrying at night when I'm out. So here we are.

CF/Composite CPM154/S90V, due to it's rarity. And I don't like blurple.
But my first thought in a Manix is always XL.

That is definitely one good looking Manix.

I don't see the "line" between the two steels on the blade in your pic. And what's that "018v" by the logo?

That CF looks awesome. Love CF.
The line is there, it's just not as profound as some of the other composite steel blades, and it was not the best pic. The 18 means it is a collectors club knife. My local knife shop has a few collectors club numbers and I would always get 18 if I could (Seneca18 :)) but he changed it so you will see all my Spydercos with 002 from now on.

Ok gotcha. As usual , I guess I can't really go wrong in this choice of knives. But the composite is looking good right now. I'll decide over the next day or so.

I would not carry a manix2 cause it's too big. I can't fit my hands in my pockets to get stuff. For me I just use it as a pure work knife for cutting stuff. Blurple s110v. Wanted a cf version but because the cf version has heavy steel liners and is still big I'd just be wasting my monies. That's just my take.

If I had a 3rd choice for carry I would get the CF s90V or the CF Cruwear. I think that the Blurple is not really for dressy use unless you put on custom CF scales but it is a great steel. I have all 3 of these and I usually carry my S30V with CF scales. The nice thing is that I have a knife that I don't mind using hard and I can put the original scales and use the CF on another knife. I hope I haven't caused you more confusion.

Just plan on getting both, and get the laminated one before they are gone! LOL

I have both and I love the feel of the CF scales.

Neither get very much pocket time because I also have the maxamet lw, and I really like that steel.

Out of the two you mention, I would take the S110V. It is more stain resistant and the color and look are more friendly.

Actually , I like the look of the blurple G10 too. I have yet to handle that color in person. And I've never tried S110V either.

I wonder how S110V compares to the composite S90V/CPM154 blade in all categories (i.e. : edge retention , toughness , corrosion resistance etc). Because so far the blurple G10/S110V seems like a better deal. But they both appear to be excellent knives at more than reasonable prices overall.
