Ok...I already have a Camelbak BFM backpack and am looking for something smaller. I think I like the Gearslinger from Maxpedition, but trying to decidce which one. I always tend to buy something to big, I just need a reality check. Those of you who have one already, can you give me the pro's and con's of yours?

I have a fatboy and really like it.
Not to big but you can put a lot off gear in it.

It all depends on what you want to carry in it.
Maxpedition has a lot of products and has the right bag for everyone

I have a Lochsa Versipack, Brilliant!!, Don't use the expansion much, but I have a few times and it has come in very usefull, the Mrs has a (I have nicked it from time to time) Jumbo versipack, She loves it ,when we camp, She has most things in it I forgot to bring.......wont waste time about quality, pockets .. Blah blah blah

I like things with water bottle pockets ,not a fan of bladders so I lean towards the P.Falcon II & I do like the Jumbo versipack as well....

I like the Condor ll I just got. Not to big, not to small.

It does however lack a waterbottle holder (has camelback thing) and an external cell phone holder.

For a hiking backpack I've got a Condor II and like the previous poster said, it's a very nice size. My EDC bag is a Colossus with a 10 x 4 Water Bottle holder. I like it because it can be worn behind your back or on your side and it doesn't have to be removed to access your stuff. I used to have a Malaga Gearslinger and sold it. I'm regretting it now and will probably pick up another one in the near future.

Well...I think I decided on the Malaga. Looks nice for a hunting/hiking/medic/riding bag.

I just got a Malaga. Really like it. I'll probably add a water bottle holder.

The Maxpeditions have a lot of pockets and compartments--good if you like organizing stuff in your bags.

It's on the small side, but easily holds enough for a day hike, etc.... I use it on my motorcycle as well for day trips. Nice little bag.

I have a falcon II - absolutely love it. Even when empty it cinches down really small. Pro's - it has lots of pockets, ties and loops for hyperorganization. Con's some people don't like hyperorganization because it cuts down on usable volume. I'm not a big fan of bladders either but I'm going to give one a try. I also ordered a bottle holder which links on to the sides nice enough and gives additional room for goodies!

The falcon II serves as my work bag, the main compartment fits my 15" laptop easily and I keep all my PSK stuff in the middle compartment so it is there with me to go. I love it one weekends as a daybag. I think it is big enough for a couple of days overnighters if you are careful with your packing. The straps at the bottom let you carry tarp, air-mattress and sleeping bag as an external bundle.

What are the water bottle packs called? I think I'm going to get one of those... I've been having a hard time with water bottle carry when I go into the everglades for dinner.

Yeah that's it, that's the one. What the Molle locks won't snap onto the loops built in? I'm not sure I follow...

I have the jumbo and I love it. It holds everything for around town and has a waterbottle holder which is really nice. Its the best edc bag i have ever had. If your looking for something smaller this guy will work for you. My bro has the gearslinger and it isnt small at all. Its basically the size of a regular sized backpack

Another vote for the Fatboy, Fatboy-s. I have tried some other bags but keep going back to the Fatboy-s. Consider it a modern possibles bag. It goes almost everywhere I do.

I have the Jumbo, Fatboy and the Pygmy Falcon II.
No complaints on any of the three after two and a bit years of regular use.

If you don't want something too big and don't need a hydration system, have a look at PFII.
Quite versatile and will hold a fair bit. Holds my 15" laptop with accessories, a few A4 books, 2 litres of water via 2 Nalgene bottles etc etc with ease.

You will also find that the reviews here on Bladeforums and elsewhere very favourable towards it. Honestly, for the price... it's hard to beat!

I have a Vulture II and I love it. It is larger than the condor II but there is plenty of room for whatever you need to pack. It also accommodates a water bladder and has the velcro system for holders and gun holster, etc.

I have the Jumbo and love it, it goes with me everywhere. It is big enough to hold what I need but not so big that it is too bulky. I also like the water bottle holder, its big enough for a GSI metal cup and Nalgene.
