I have been looking at a Mcusta to add to my next order. I do not like tip-down carry, but I do not mind knives without pocket clips for gents folders. My favorite models are as follows, but I can only get one and I would appreciate suggestions.

1.Mcusta Tanbo Classic Damascus Folder
2.Mcusta Katana Folder Black/Blue Handles
3.Mcusta Damascus Kamon Matsuba Crest

I really like all of these blades. These knives would not be edc knives, but rather knives just for personal enjoyment and occasional carrying on special occasions.

I sat with Jonnymac and he showed me his Mcusta, and I really dug that folder. I do not recall which one it was, but it was nice. I think they are quite a sleeper, not mentioned much, but a great knife none the less. I will be adding one to my collection soon. It just has not happened yet.

I like these.

Have you considered the "TAKE"?

I really dig it. If I ever used it as an EDC I'd probably yearn for a clip and a beefier handle (and maybe some jimping), but I just keep it as part of my small collection.

Thanks for all of the replies. I really am liking the damascus handled Mcustas, like the Take and the Tanbo, but I do not love that the liner has that really sharp edge exposed, tell me what you guys think.

I really like that Tanbo, and I will likely purchase it but just one issue:

Do you see that nasty little point on the liner? will it be as bad as it looks?

cj,I like the wooden handles better.I have & had the cocobolo, quince,& stamina woods. Also,Mcusta has (consistently had) some of the smoothest actions,& sharpest blades I've had in a production knife.
They're a very overlooked company IMO.

I have only handled the Katana, so I vote for that one. Solid and smooth knife.

You should look into the Yoroi as well. It's a beautiful knife.

I am so SOLD on that Mcusta Katana Folder Black/Blue Handles, Who sells it at a decent price?

I'm a fan of the Mcusta Tactility line myself. I've had several Mcustas over the recent years. My favorite is the Tactility with the Corian Scales.

What is the blade retention like on Mucsta's? I'm considering buying one, but as its tip-down I want to be sure it wont pop open easily in my pocket.

Tip up is where you have to worry about blade retention. Either way the Mcusta's are fine.
