Which media gives the best stone washing results?

I've been using some small rocks that were left over from when we had our house landscaped. Just wondering if there's something better....

So many finishes , try em all.

Ceramic media or stone. Triangle, square and round.
Ball bearings in many sizes
Coins
Nails

Even the 3/4 gravel im spreading right now .
