Which Millie for camping/yardwork...

...a plain edge or full-serrated?

I have the Delica 4s in both edges and love them both but am looking at finally getting a Military.(the first Spydie I fell in love with years ago but still don't own yet)

Due to its size I wont be using it for EDC much but since I'm getting away from fixed blades for camping and hiking jaunts I thought the Millie might be just the ticket.

For outdoor usage which blade would be best? Thoughts?

Thanks:thumbup:

i imagine that a PE should be fine. if you are going to be using it a lot it will be quicker to sharpen. i would get the orange because it would be easy to find if dropped. but my favorite color is the digicam.

I was just on the 'bay looking at digis but thinking the orange might be best for this app.:D

For camping, plain edge. For yard work, full serrations.

APF's pretty much one the money here. I I carry a D2 Para and a 440V SE Millie at work at all times. Ive never encountered a cutting task I couldn't handle with this carry combination (and FWIW I don't use folders for chopping!). Out of the two I find the SE Millie far more versatile, and would pick that in a flash if I was only to carry one knife at work. There is also enough of pain edge at the tip to still be useful.

i think the mili is one of the only folder that has the blade length to make use of a combo edge. The serrations on it are only maybe 1/3 the blade so its only a few serrations but it would be better to use the serrations when you have to.

I had a CE Millie that was my dedicated yard work/beater knife for a few years. Worked really well in that capacity and the serrations came in handy getting cuts started on thick or fibrous materials or when I had to cut rope, twine or trimmer line.
