I have one of these (with a more elaborately carved wood handle) that was posted by Yangdu as a Chatur Vala.

Now I need an opinion. The kydex sheath has scratched the finish up, such that it has become uneven in appearance. Not a huge deal on a user knife but annoying to me. I was thinking about going over it with a scotch bright pad and taken the whole blade down to a lower grit finish. Heresy? Bad idea?

Sure a pretty knife, love at first sight for me too. Is it a sin to covet another mans knife?

I'd get hold of Pugs and have him build you a nice leather sheath for that and polish it back up to a mirror for signalling aircraft when you get lost in the wilderness, course I'm probably the only one that gets lost on a regular basis, I'm good at it.

I think leather would be much kinder to the finish and he makes a beautiful sheath. My Pen Knife is gonna go to him one of these days for a new outfit.

No Heresy, Make it your own. Users often end up with a scotchbrite finish anyways, as it,soap and water are the best ways to get sap and stains off the blade. Call it a "working finish". All my users are this way. if you like the Kydex....use it. I prefer leather myself.
