Which Mora??

I have heard great things about Mora knives and how tough they are for the price. I want to try out a couple for general camp, bushcraft, cutting tasks. Which models would you recommend that I order?

If anyone would recommend the best place to find them for a good price, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks!

My favorite is the #510!!!!!!!!!
It is the cheapest one, and has the longest tang. They are all so cheap though, get a couple different ones and decide for yourself.

Get them from www.ragweedforge.com He is super nice, ships super fast, and has the best prices.

Yeah, there are so many of them, you'll end up getting several before it is all said and done, so just pick the one that jumps out at you. I like all of the ones I've got, but if I had to give all my Mora knives away for some reason, the one I'd save for myself would probably be the 780 Triflex.

anyone will be good for you i really like my 911. but when you get yours i recommend sharpening it before you use it. for some reason the edge they come with while sharp sometimes is a little weak and you get a roll or chip. Plus when you sharpen it and then give it a good stropping it becomes extremely sharp. I love my clipper and my 911. the 2000 is nice too.

Hey vrocco1

I Really like the 780 Triflex..

I just bought all of my Ventures 780's

I'm an oddball around here. . . I like my 521. It's got a tad longer blade than the 510 and has a guard which most folks here don't care for. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not, but figured I could always cut it off if I it got in the way. Almost 2 years later it still hasn't bothered me at all. One of these days I'll pick up a 510 and give it a try. I think I may like the shorter blade a bit better.

Big fan of the mora #1 #2, I've beaten mine again and again and they are still going strong.

My love for this knife started with not being able to find a decent puukko scandi just slightly over 4'' (call me crazy right?) but I've looked at laplands, wood jewels, anhtis etc etc).

So this would probably the one knife I would order in bulk just to make sure I'll always have one on hand. (but I would preferably go for the carbon version, since the laminated is kinda hard to throw sparks off of, unless using the edge. I've even tried to square off the spine, but it still doesn't give as good results as the carbon.)

i'm a fan of the S1 red barrel handle mora. my favorite so far and sits nicely in a modified sharpshooter bushcraft B sheath.

I like my short bladed 1241 best, and I just ordered a 1241gn along with a couple other, non-moras from Ragweed Forge. Ragnar is great to deal with.

It is a tie between my 510 & 556 with the guard removed.
I like them both for what they are, 510 carbon & 556 stainless (lots of kayak time).

I've had most, and my Clipper still wins by a hair over the 780. I'd love to get my hands on the new 2010. Has the nice handle, like my 911, but the sweet blade of the Mora 2000. That might take over the top spot.

you really cant loose with any of the moras. the scandi blade is so dam sharp. i love them all.
