I love the look of the native and I finally got to pick one up and look at it in person the other day. But I'm stuck, I don't know which style to get. Plain or serrated? Coated or uncoated? Also, do they even make a coated pain edge?

Native 5 if you can find one. If you dont mind spending the money, there is the Native 5 2013 forum knife. Then you can also the pre order the Native 5 in 110sv.

I have had the native 3 in full serrations, and a native 5 in plain. I also bought my girlfriend the native 3 in plain. I personally prefer the plain edge to serrations.

The stainless blade in the native 5 is just a good looking knife with the stainless accents on the clip and back of the handle. I also prefer the g10 to the frn any day. If you look on certain auction sites the native 3 is significantly cheaper than the native 5, so do whatever your wallet will allow.

I have handled the lightweight version of the native, and that was the only one I wasn't crazy about. I edc'd both s
the 3&5 for years (native 5 currently) and you will not go wrong. Absolutely awesome knife.

Native5 plain edge satin S35VN blade and black G10. That's my choice. Is a beautiful knife.

Tbe fluted Ti handle version does nothing for me.

C78 Native3 was discontinued several years ago and will not be easy to find.

Coated PE never was in regular production. There was sprint of 400 pieces several years ago.
Out of all currently available Natives I would go with Native5, it is about $50 more than Native, but IMHO well worth these money. Objectively better lock, also I prefer FFG with no swedge to hollow grind, I prefer G10 to FRN and screw construction to pinned. Even I carry today Ti Fluted, IMHO 2013 Forum knife is the cream of the crop. Fortunately for me I paid only $150 for it.

Native 5 for sure !! My favorite edc blade! It's so well made ; so beautiful! And I don't know about the other Natives , but disengaging the lock on the 5 is awesome . Best description for the action would be that it's supple. In case it isn't clear; I freaking love the Native 5!

Years ago I had a Native 3 and really, really, liked it. It had fantastic ergonomics and was a perfect EDC.

Mine was uncoated with a PE, so of course, I suggest that style. :D

What is the white handled native 5? I've never seen that one.

That is the EDC Forum Moonglow Native and it's not exactly white, it's GITD and just comes off white in the light. It's more or a pale green-yellow when not charged, and glows brightly after some time in the sun or in front of a light.

Looks like I'm just gunna end up getting the life center exclusive native, then a 2013 forum knife when I can afford one.

Get plain edge. I have had both, and I found the edge too short for serrations to be efficient. I also think plain edge works better with the pinch style grip.

I got the KC Native a few months ago and it is a great knife.
Nice and light and super comfortable plus that steel gets crazy sharp.

Just this morning I got a Native in S30V with the Spyder edge serrations.
Normally I stay with plain edges but this thing is a beast.

Would love to try the 5 in S35V but it seems to be out of stock everywhere.
Lately my most carried Spydercos seem to say Golden on them (Manix, Millie, Native).

I'm glad I got my native 5 last year as it seems to be out of stock everywhere. It's a great little knife. I also have the KC exclusive. I think I like that one better. Super light and is very comfortable in the hand.
