Which of these would you buy, and why?

Spyderco para 3
Benchmade 556-1 (g10 Griptilian mini)
Benchmade 940-2
Benchmade mini barrage in g10 with s30v

I'm looking for a good edc and can't decide which of these to get.

Ide go Para 3 if those were my choices. I love spyderco's full flats grind and blade shape on the military, Pm 2 and 3. They slice, pierce and cut very well. I have grown to despise thimbstuds as well. Especially on shorter blades where i will likely be using the edge directly below the stud. The Ergos are amazing as well

I'd like to hear more about you selection parameters. What has led you to select from these 4 knives? For example, of the choices you give I consider the BM 940 to be a hands-down winner. But...and a big but...if you're OK with a 3.5" blade (as your option of the 940 seems to indicate), why not consider the PM2? IMHO the PM3 was designed all wrong. Please tell us more about the parameters that led you to these 4 fine knives and we'll be better able to offer advice.

Para3, provided it's the S110V version. A great choice for EDC.

Thas what I'm thinking.
However . . .
and I don't have a mini Brage but if the blade thickness spec I saw at 0.10 inch is correct along with the handle shape that one looks pretty useful.

Para 2 pivot, lock and slicing ability is REALLY GREAT though.
The 940 takes up less pocket space, is lighter, has a blade tip you can use for a screw driver (~). Pretty darned good action; not up to the Para.

Well . . . anyway . . . tell us more . . .

I think the 940 has the longest blade of the bunch, but if it was me, the 556 with 20cv steel is what I'd buy.

The reason: Great ergos, great steel.

Para3 in maxamet or cru wear. In any case the para 3 blade shape is a better slicer.
Otherwise benchmade qc is not great for the cost. But if you order from like Dlt trading and ask them to inspect one, I'd go 940-2. cause out of all my benchmades I like the 940 series the most.

I would pick the 556-1 if I need a light EDC that I can carry around at the office, or anywhere in a city environment

IMG_2849.JPG I'd grab that 940 in a heart beat.
I have 4 of them and they are all amazing!!
I keep a 940 'beater' in my work truck and that thing can handle anything.......fantastic to fondle also!

556-1 or 940-2, both are well proven folders. I avoid AO folders (Barrage) and para3 looks wrong to me.

Hi!

Para 3 in S30V plain or in S110V.
Cru-Wear is a nice steel but the handle color is a very light grey which gets dirty quick.

The benchmades I do not know, but I love the Para 3 and can recommend it.

bye ric
