Hello! I really appreciated all the help in my last thread about which knives were "must haves". Here is a picture of what I ACTUALLY have -

Benchmade Tsunami
Spyderco Endura
Spyderco "Q"
Spyderco Civilian - Original "Tuffram" finish - is this worth anything over and above what they sell for as a collectors item?

Cold Steel Recon Tanto
Glock Field knife (They should have stuck to guns)
Gerber river knife, double edged
Cold Steel Culloden - FULL SIZE - also curious if there is any collector value here.

Right now I'm inclined to keep all my folders unless that Civilian is worth enough to buy everything else I want... I know the "Q" is worth a few bucks and have no particular attraction to that one if I can get $100 for it...

Anyway, I'm not crazy about the Glock or Gerber but I think they are essentially worthless, and the Gerber has sentimental value. The Cold Steel Culloden, I'm not sure...

As far as must haves - I'm thinking a Spyderco Military plain blade and Benchmade 3200 auto plain blade.

Still researching fixed blades...

What would you guys do/keep?

I would keep the endura and the civilian and sell the rest. Use that money to get yourself the Millie and Benchmade.

I'd hang onto the knife that has some sentimental value. You'll probably regret selling it later on down the road.

Just my $.02

the Civvie probably has some value-the Endura isn't worth jack, used, when you can get new ones for 45 bucks, but i'd be tempted to buy it all the same. The Tsunami-I've never seen one before, but it is probably more of a collector piece. The Q has good resale value. The Blackie Collins and Culloden are still in heavy Supply,so do what you want. This is only my opinion, though. maybe other folks can offer more.--Joe

Agreed the Endura is relatively worthelss money wise - but it is great for carry and if I lost it, I'd shed no tears. Well, maybe one - but I've had... several? Enduras. Hence my being scared as hell to buy a Sebenza - if I lost that :(

I love the Tsunami - lifetime keeper. It might be more collectable without the numerous character marks on it. C'est la vie.

The Civilian - As I understand it, these knives are for "self defense" or "sentry removal" depending on who you talk to. ALl I know is you can't stab with it and I bought it when I was young and thought it looked cool. If it is worth any real money, and doesn't look like it will appreciate much more, I'd trade for a Sebenza :p

The "Q" - same as above - I'd sell it in a second but for the fact I like having rare things. A catch-22 for sure. Not crazy about it, won't use it, won't carry it - won't sell it? Yeah, I'm stupid.

As far as the fixed blades - the Recon Tanto, Carbon V steel, gets no love? I don't know much about it but it *seems* well made, and think I paid almost $100 for it... I don't have much use for a big fixed blade, so I think it will serve for now...

Make an offer :) It could be yours cheap!

All your folders have serrated blades, sell them!

Oh heck, sell the lot and get new ones.

Every one should have one of the following:

- Swiss army knife of your choice
- good quality folder such as the Military (plain edge this time!)
- good fixed blade with 4-5" blade

and

- one big bowie knife!

I like your selection of flashlights but you have too many...keep the two Surefire lights and the big maglite. You'll need to sell the other two so you can buy the knives mentioned above.

Cheers,
Collecter

I would keep the following, for the following reasons:
Endura - good hard work knife, also a very suitable defensive knife.
Civilian - no bones about it one of the best folding fighters out there, there is just nothing like it.
Q - a nice light utility and slightly more sheeple friendly tool.
The Recon Tanto - a hard use fixed blade for back country work, or anything else tough you might do.
The Culloden - an excellent and versatile concealed carry defensive piece. Flat, thin, neutral handle - allows for a variety of methods, is a good slasher and stabber and conceals well. (Psst... if you wanna get rid of this one anyway, drop me an email ;))

Sell the others, and get what you want.
