Which one for backup?

I have a Cold Steel 4" Tanto Voyager. Getting myself the large CRKT Point Guard. Going to carry both.

How I have a problem deciding which one for daily use and which one for backup, given completely different configuration of handle, blade shape/size and material, locking mechanism/strength etc.

Cold Steel: lockback, all zytel handle, american tanto point, AUS8A steel, ambi thumb stud, tip up carry. So far I like it, although a utility blade shape might serve better as apple peeler :)

CRKT Point Guard: Utility AUS6M blade, locking liner (420J steel as liner), Zytel handle bolster, ambi thumb disk, tip down carry (I guess)

Inputs are welcome. Let me clarify: by backup I don't mean 'always sharp, don't use unless for Self Defense' term, but more on the line 'if the general used one breaks/lost/unreachable, get the other'. Of course self defense purpose is always there although is not my main concerrn.

I'd use the Point Guard as primary since it has LAWKS.

I think the PG's blade shape would be more useful for most tasks. And I like the PG's handle shape better too. But the CS should hold an edge a little bit longer. Since the PG will be your new knife, you should probably use that one most at first, just to get used to it, then you'll know which works better for what you do with it.

Thanks folks. I guess from your post, both end up similar in overall evaluation with different strength/weakness of many aspects.
Have a nice day.

PG as primary.
The shape works a heck a lot better, I'd dare to say it's public friendlier than tanto, and heck the shape isn't that hard to maintain it. Sharpening a tanto isn't exactly fun.
