I'd been carrying a CPK Kephart but gave it to my Grandson a couple of days ago. So now I need to decide which to take its place. I promise I will not claim the election was rigged and will put the winner in the door pocket for at least the next year. All three will be in the original leather sheath in the truck.

1. Five inch Randall Model 3 in O1.

2. Five inch Randall Model 7 in Stainless.

3. Schrade Golden Spike

I chose Golden Spike base purely on it would be a shame to inadvertently lose a Randall.

Now if loss is not a factor, I’d pick the one you’ve used the least so you can build memories with a new friend.

Of the three options I'd go with the Schrade.
(Truthfully, I'd prefer a vintage Western L66. The L66 was THE hunting knife to have when I was young.)

If you don't already own and possess the Randal, the Schrade is the only real option?
I think I read somewhere not too long ago there is a 4 or 5 year waiting period for a new Randle?
(I have no idea on the availaility or costof a NIB or "Lightly Used" Randal on the big auction site, or at any of the local pawn shoppes.)

Then there is the cost. Personally, I can think of a lot of things that I need which cost less than a new/new to me Randal.

What are your anticipated uses?

I own the three knives posted. The anticipated use is mostly to make me feel good about that knife in the door when I'm in the truck.

I'd go for the Schrade. Nicely weathered, patinated, plus if that's Stag it's always welcome and endures changes of temp/humidity very well.

No poor choices mind! Hope that door pocket is secure....
More likely Staglon...the staggy looking version of Delrin...and imo the best faux stag ever made....
Now the question is..What truck is it? 2 or 4 door?...get one more blade and everyone gets one in their door

I’d go with #2. What’s the point of a superb knife to not use it? They’re all great knives. I wouldn’t do a leather handle in the truck tho. And the stagalon may crack in the heat??? Idk. (This is all purely my opinion, I have a small CRKT in my truck because the belt loop part of the sheath broke, and they don’t have any replacements.)

Twelve votes. Twelve!!! This place is populated by a bunch of non-voting pikers! 🥸

I was hoping for an "other option"
I didnt vote yet, but id vote for the one you care about the least when it gets stolen.

I recently changed up My car knives, for that reason

Staglon it is. I like the four blades idea. I could put either one of these in the truck too...

Thing is, of all of them it's the Herter's that is truly irreplacable. And the 3V Bark River nearly so. So I think I'll just stick with one of the original three in my door.
