Do you mean the RC-6?
As to the Rat-5 I would wait and get a RC-4 or RC-6. I would heartily recommend any of the RC series as general outdoor use fixed blades.

rc-6 but a rc -4 would be nice . any on the list will do .

The RAT5 is a good knife, but I concur that you should get a RC4 or RC6 (available Jan. & Feb. respectively) if you can. Same basic knife, but better fit and finish and a better heat treat.

I have a Becker Crewman, which is a great knife and a great value for its type. They are currently a bit hard to come by though.
