Aurum Harley Davidson 75th Anniversary knife is listed under two different listings by two different sellers, on eBay.

Which can be OK under normal circumstances, BUT both knives show " 1 of 3000 " etching on the blade. So i'm thinking one has to be fake!!!

Maybe some of the knowledgable Bros can help me before I shell out a couple of hundred dollars

Here are the listings on eBay

a. Listing # 131890046657
this knife has gimping on the back of the knife
Aurum is etched on the reverse tang of the knife from the Harley davidson etching
(live ebay link removed by bhyde)

b. Listing # 132356851507
No Gimping, Aurum is on the same side of the tang with the Harley Davidson etching
(live ebay link removed by bhyde)
Thanks very much

The "1 of 1000" means just that. 1000 made, and that's one of them. It's not a serial number.

Both knives have jimping. Look at the pictures.

The tang stamp being on different sides is odd, but I doubt either is fake. There's at least one more of these knives currently listed too.

Thanks very much for your reply.

Yes both have gimping but one looks very pronounced than the other.
It is like one of the knives is way older than the other one. As if they had two runs and used similar but different knives.
I am also surprised 1 of 3000 is just that

I believe ALCAS was the manufacturer, wish we had someone with Alcas on the forum who could shed some light. :)

Thanks again - Matt

Live ebay links are no beuno on Bladeforums-

Oops Sorry bout that

was trying to avoid buying something not legit.
Looks like listing #'s will do

There are a few companies that number limited editions like that and it has come up a few times here.
That is not a red flag at all.
