Which one knife would you get?

Hey everyone:

I am looking to get a new edc knife. I have done a lot of research, and have narrowed down my options to a few knives, but I would like to see what other ideas more experienced people have.

This will be my one knife that I carry daily for normal tasks. It needs to be top-notch quality and made to last. These are my primary criteria:

Fold knife with flipper opening
Needs to have a quick and solid flip
4” or less handle length
2.5-3” blade length
Around .5” handle thickness
Titanium handle
S35VN or M390 steel blade
frame lock (that isn’t failure prone)
Less than $300, but preferably under $200.

Thank you!

Well, you're looking at folders, that's out of my area of expertise!
BUT, at the risk of sounding like a jerk, your criteria are so pedestrian, it really is going to come down to which one is best looking to you. There are literally dozens, if not hundreds, of knives with all of those boxes checked. Good luck, you're going to need it!

Kizer Yorkie? Probably something from Monterey Bay Knives (MBK) would work too, if you can wait for a drop, or find it on the secondary.

I think there are literally dozens of knives that may fit the criteria, here are some search results in bladehq:

I don't own enough of them to comment whether they are built to last, but I would think a viable option is to find a brand that has longer history and potentially a better warranty program to fix or address any issues. On that regard, my only opinion is not to buy from Reate, which I have bad experience dealing with their non existing customer service.

Hi P PMT214 , welcome to Blade Forums and good luck on you’re quest! Starting with a budget of $200 tells me you’ve owned nice knives before. Can you share a little of your knife experience so we can better aid you?

Thanks. I have been looking at several Kizers. They seem to have a good reputation. I really like the MBK EZC, I don’t know when those will be back I stick though.

Thanks. Yeah I have been using BladeHQ a lot!

I don’t know exactly but you can reach them on Instagram directly
They are kind and very responsive
Do you know if/when the EZC will be back in stock? That is a nice, no frills knife.
I am waiting to get some rounds to get one myself ;)

I haven’t had anything too fancy. A couple Brownings, larger fold knives, and a couple automatics from my dad. I haven’t had something that I have liked enough to carry on me daily though.

For reference I think the following are some of my favorites right now for what I am looking for:

Lionsteel TRE
Kizer Shoal
And some of the Zero Tolerance flippers- although I have read so many mixed things about ZT I’m not too sure about them.
I also really like the Benchmade 765 Mini. It is a little bigger than I like, but my main issue is that it doesn’t have a flip tab.
