Thinking about a One Piece before they are scarce. Just want to get it to have. Which are your favorites?

I like the Nkonkas:

The Tanto is also a nice blade:

But if I was to choose just one to use as an all-round outdoors blade, it would be the Ubejane:

I've had the Mountaineer I forever...it's actually a South African made knife. I've also had several others in the one piece line - which disappeared as gifts while the Mountaineer is here to stay. The Nkonka was too big for me. I will probably get the Ubejane before the line vanishes. It got good reviews here and looks like a do everything knife. BUT that said...I'd still go with the Mountaineer I!

They're all terrific knives...do a search here and you'll pull up a lot of the info you want and also some good pictures.
Best,
Gargs

I dont have a favorite, so I just kept getting them to try and find one:D

They are ALL Awsome, some I like more than others ( not a fan of the serrated versions ) I tend to like the Spear Point and Tanto the Best. I just got them all out again to take a family portrait of my newest addition to the family, a CRK "Skinner"

What I would like to know is why would Chris stop making the one piece?surely there is a market for them,I would think.

The blanks are rough ground in south africa. The guy that does them wants to retire at the end of the year. I am thinking either chris does not have anyone he can trust or the price would be higher if the knife was made completely in US.

Hi,

Why is the but cap different between knives of the same model? Is because when it was born? I have a Jereboam and it has a more rounded cap.

Thanks!

ALL Hex Caps were made in South Africa, but when Chris moved to the US, they still had some Hex Caps left over, so you will see Hex Caps on some US made knives. ALL Round Caps are USA Made though. I also believe ALL Hex Cap One-Piece Knives are Numbered as well. I have 2 older ones with a Hex Cap and they are numbered. So if you see a Hex Cap One-Piece Knife, it is of the older style and is more collectible. Personally, I like the One-Piece line so much, I dont care if its a Hex or Round Cap, I just gotta have more !!!

Shadow I, Shadow IV, Project II.

When are they gonna stop production?

The Shadow I production has already stopped ( check out my CRK timeline in sticky ). The Shadow IV and Project II are still in production and will be until the whole line stops.
