which one to add to my (small) collection?

Hello,

I am looking to add a new mid-size folder to my collection. I am considering either the mini Rukus from Benchmade or the Spyderco Paramilitary. Both have s30v blades, and I like both the axis lock and the compression lock.

I already own a few Benchmades and Spydercos, and like really both, but can only afford one at this time.

Please state your reasons for preferring one or the other.

I have never handled the paramilitary, but the ruckus is built like a tank, it is a heavy duty knife.
 
Do you have any flat ground blades? If no, get the paramilitary.

Do you have any fully serrated blades? If no, get a serrated paramilitary.

Would you like to customize your rukus with the winewood, silver G-10, or ivory micarta scales kit from Benchmade? If yes, get a rukus.

That would be my logic...
 
I have never tried the spyderco. But I LOVE the Rukus line. Benchmade. Axis lock. Enough said.
 
I do not like the ParaMilitary. I had one, and I gave it away to my Uncle for his B-day. So, I say get the Mini-Rukus!
 
I like the Benchmade Mini Rukus. Both are nice knives but I like the axis lock better. GOOD LUCK! Kevin:)
 
I've had my para for a month and a half now and have to say its tied for favorite folder with my full sized ritter grip. I've handled the mini rukus on multiple occasions and the knife is awesome too. they both have really good handles(I have large and XL size mits). one thing to keep in mind the rukus is by no means a medium sized knife its full size it feels larger in my hand then my 806 afck but it feels very good. the para is also not medium sized it is pretty light weight and I forget its in my polet sometimes. All that being said I have been looking at getting a mini rukus for a while now I liked it that much. but I still love my para. I think you need to decide by size more then anything.
 
I really didn't like the square corner of the tang on the para, had to grind it off because it hurt my hand when I reached in my front pocket (wallet). Loved the handle. Haven't handled either size rukus, but the axis is my favorite lock and it might carry a little better.
