AKs...

Tan/Tan
or
OD/Black

Which color combo do you like better and why... I am freaking out and if I go insane and pull the trigger, I will need to have a better handle on which color I want. I like them both... Ugh...

OD and black is cool.
I was thinking it looks a lot like a toy...
"Yes officer that is my teenage sons...don't know how it got in my back seat:eek:

Jeeper:

I HAD!! an OD/BLK AK-47, but had to sell it for some cash. Having major regrets at this point, but oh well. OD is my favorite blade color, so I'm a little biased, but I assure you it is one beautiful combo. Either way you can't go wrong. Any AK is a good AK. If you plan on stripping that baby get the Tan/Tan. I'd hate to see an OD forced to go nekkid.

The OD/Black would match my Hell Razor...
The Tan/Tan would go well with my Grey/Tan Mag'd FBM...

Good suggestions so far guys! Keep 'em coming!

thats a tough one... I have a tan shadow/tan satin jack, and I've had an od/black hogfsh (one of the best danged knives I've ever held in my hands :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: (grumpy face doesnt have said knife anymore)), and its a tough one to choose...

If its going to sit in a closet, tan shadow looks a little "cooler", where as plain tan is a good beater color because its reletively "plain"....

For me, the od green didn't spark any kind of visual recognition, it was just there. If I have something with shadow or grey or a color I'm not used to, I'm less likely to want to remove it then if its something I see every day or something that isn't at all flashy like a dark dark brown or black or in this case green.

SO..... my choice = safe queen go with tan shadow/tan
user go with od/black or tan/tan (my preference for heavy beater = od black because I like darker colors in general, for light beater/edc user - tan. It looks nicer to sheeple :) )

ooone a these days I'ma gonna strike it rich I tells ya, and I'm gonna buy me a coating machine... I'm gonna put such crazy custom colors on my own busse's like no ones eva seens before.... deep rich purples, translucent colors greys and blacks, and oooooh the pink.... THE PINK!!!...

tan/tan for sure...

I just scored one of the same for myself. but then again, i've never been fond of the OD color.

If you get the tan/tan, it'll match the Ruck you're going be looking for next!

3 for OD/Black
1 for either based on use (not sure how much I will use it)
2 for Tan/tan

I like the looks of the Tan/Tan a little more, but the OD/Black is a little more stealth. Especially in the Mid-Atlantic States!

I would go for tan/tan.

Just look at that polished badger. If your coating wears out, you can have that look on your AK.

For me, I just jumped on the only aluminum handled AK I have seen. Urban grey with black aluminum. At the Blade show I got a set of matching pants for it, an Okuden two-tone, Grey on the sides and black in the middle. It's a perfect match.

Personally I like the combo's both, but I would prefer the OD/black. Just like the OD coating more

Good luck with your choice.

Ok, did it... OD/Black... No regrets, as some of you say...

Stripping it once the coating has worn substantially to make a Black Tie AK was one of the great ideas above...

Then...
This was the picture that sealed it:

Of what was Factory/Company Store commonly available I retain a Tan on Tan and a Grey with standard black handles.

I like the Tan on tan the Best.

AKs...

Tan/Tan
or
OD/Black

Just do what the HOGs do when they can't decide .....

BUY one of each. ;) :D

Seriously, that's a great picture of that AK in the tree. Cool.

Great choice JeepNut:thumbup:
OD is my favorite of the coatings...very Dark but not very crinkley

I'd get whatever handle color you like best with a stripped blade. Personally I like tan handles, but I would not mind having black.

The coating will come off eventually if you use it. You could always get it recoated and new handles put on it down the road so don't sweat it so much and just get one or both and sell the one you don't like if you have to.

Good luck!!
