Which one?

Im kind of a newbie at knives and stuff but I was wondering, Should I buy a Kershaw Emerson (a 6k or 7k) or should I get the Kershaw Cryo 2 . I really like the Emerson but I think that the wave migt be kinda intimidating if I use it (and kinda annoying)

There is nothing that says you HAVE to open a knife with the Wave, and not engaging that feature is pretty simple. I've got a couple of Emerson's from when the Wave was first offered; and, yes, bystanders can be intimidated by the "quickdraw" engagement...I dislike that kind of attention, so if I wanted/needed to use my knife (around non-knife people or strangers) I simply drew the knife normally and opened it without flourish.
Get the knife you like best. If you find the Wave "annoying" or problematic; you can remove or disable it

Both knives could easily be seen as intimidating because of their opening methods. Assisted opening is often confused with automatic opening ("nice switchblade!" - 50% of people who see me use an AO) by the general public. If you're looking for something capable but unassuming, look at the Nura 3.0, Thistle, Skyline, and Strobe.
