I'm pretty much a fixed blade guy so don't know lots on folders. The few folders I have are another USA brand. I'm thinking of adding a Spyderco to the mix. Here are my thoughts. A Shaman for a future REK reblade. Then I found the Smock and the Kapara. I know these aren't made in the US but really like the blade shape. Of those two I'm leaning towards the Smock as I like that blade profile. This won't be an everyday carry but like something slim when I go out or to church or whatever. Thoughts?

I prefer the Smock over the Kapara to carry (in pocket) but the latter is a better cutting blade. The Kapara has a longer edge and no huge cutout that can snag material. You can’t go wrong with both and there’s upgraded exclusives floating around! That being said my “slim” carry is the Chaparral, especially the SE lightweight!

Thanks. So many to choose from. I see a Chaparral with birdseye maple on it. HMM

There seems to be some controversy over whether or not the Birdseye Maple scales are stabilized. I’ve read more than one comment from owners stating that the scales warped when they got wet. Just a friendly heads up. If I didn’t know this, I would want somebody to tell me.

The Raffir Noble is another option. Very nice material. If shopping for one, I recommend buying from someone who shows pictures of the actual knife you will receive. Each one has its own unique look.

Last but not least, the blade is incredibly thin at the spine and even thinner behind the edge. Fantastic little knives!

Out of the two you mentioned I like the Kapara the best.

The really a tough call on what to get, as once I tried one spyder I wanted more.
There’s a lot of options for a church knife.
