Well I've decided to sell the Sebenza and get an Emerson. I'm leaning toward a CQC-10 but any recommendations as to a first one?

Thanks.

get a CQC12 they are the very best EKI imho by far, they aint cheap but hey if ya are selling a seb ya should have plenty of $$ to cover it.

HD7, CQC7,8, 13 and SOCFK are all good too.

never have been a big fan of the '10 myself, nothing wrong with it i just dont care for the looks like i do some of the others.

+1 on the CQC-12

I really like my 10, but I love the wave feature. It took some getting used to, but it really is a handy feature. The 10 is a good size for me and I like spear points. But you really should go handle as many as possible, in order to find "yours".

I just got a Comrade and it is pretty great. Nice and big, I had been using a Goober Air Ranger, and the CQC-12 is 180 degrees from that. I posted some pics on edcforums. Expensive, but this could be the last folder I buy, although there are a few more that I may have to try...

i love my custom CQC13 but imho as far as productions go the '12 is similar but the frame lock makes it a better knife, but i will say that the '13 is pretty high on the list of productions other than the '12,

the frame locks stronger & thinner and just makes a better knife, imho the '12 and HD7 are the 2 best productions, period end of story.

my fav liner lock EKI's are the SOCFK, CQC8, CQC7, I&I tanto & CQC13.

I bought my Large 7 and my 10 almost 3 years ago. I love the 10. It fits great in the hand, I like have the option to do a manual thumb opening or use the wave. I would get a 10 all over again, maybe pass on my 7 and stick that into another Sebby. If you can, keep the Sebby and score a 10.

I often carry an HD-7; it's a solid knife. If you have large hands or just can't stand tantos, go for the CQC-12.

Wow, great input folks. I finally got a mini-commander in black w/ half serrations as my first one. I'm sure more to follow. I really like the wave feature! I'm still looking for a CQC-10 for the next one though.
