Which one?

If you had to choose between a SOG Aegis or a SOG Flash II which one would you pick and why? They both look pretty close in functionality. Just curious.

I've had a Flash II for years.

I like the feel of the SOG Aegis much better.

It's just a better feeling knife I think overall.

I have both and like both but I would get another Aegis before another Flash II.

I like how the Flash opens easier (you don't need as much pressure before the AO takes over) but I like the handle and blade shape more on the Aegis.

I have both and like both. You're right they are very similar. The Flash has sort of an odd look which put me off for a long time. Once I got it, I realized the odd shape was actually pretty practical and comfortable....looks nice in camo too.
Aegis is just a tad bigger, but both are comfortable to my large hands. If your hands are smaller, the Flash might be better.

My Flash has the older rectangular lock release. I believe the newer Flash's have a release similar to the round arc'ing one on the Aegis, which seems like a real improvement.

Aside from that, it's really personal taste. Maybe get both and trade off the one you like least?

If you're looking for just an edc, the Twitch XL might be worth a look. Kind of an underrated knife, but I like mine....very slim in the pocket. Nice write up on it in the April Knives Illustrated.

I had a few Flash IIs and like them very much. I have never had an Aegis but I like the rubber inserts and blade shape better so I would go with the Aegis.

Have both prefer aegis for edc because of the blade shape.

I carried a Flash 2 every day for 7 years,it got used Hard!It still works just fine,one of the best knives out there for serious EDC.
