My 1 3/4" Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt fits my Wrangler jeans but looks too wide for the waistband. Which pants (preferably mail-order) have a wide enough waistband to look good with such a wide belt? Thank you for the benefit of your experience.

P.S.: Wilderness emailed me that they have the 1 1/2" belts back in stock and I have already ordered one for everyday wear with my Wranglers.

I like 1.75" belts with Wranglers, because it fills up the belt loops, which keeps everything in line when I am carrying heavier loads on the belt. Just my $0.02.

they're made from sturdy cotton duck fabric, the same stuff that's on the Carhartt Jackets. The cotton is nice enough for almost year round wear and is soft as kitten fur after a few washes. You've got Bellow type cargo pockets with snaps instead of buttons. They look neater than BDU pants and feel better.

Thanks for the ideas, gentlemen. I will give the wide belt another chance with my Wrangler jeans. I like those Carhartt 6-pocket pants. And it turns out they sell them at Dicks Sporting goods right here is Lynchburg!

This post is exactly why I bought the Ring Belt. First of all I kind of doubt I ever have to use the rapelling ring on an Instructor belt, but most important is that 1 1/4" fits most belt loops. :D

but the ring buckle is ugly as sin, and it's not rated for any rappelling or rigging use...

without those, I would just get a nice leather belt from Galco or Desantis.
