So... I'm a newb. I have a couple Spydercos and a couple Benchmades, but would like to play around and change stuff on them.

Looking to find out what knives have the most options for aftermarket type modifications and where to find them? Stuff like scales, spacers, thumb studs, screws, and the such in different material or color. Thanks for any info guys.

many knives aren't meant to be disassembled without voiding a warranty... Hinderer although expensive has the biggest set of authorized scale, screw and clip options for customization... Aside from them, I've seen a good amount of ZT0550 scales aftermarket as well as DPX Hest, but any more extensive work will require a custom job

It really isnt going to be a specific brand but really the popularity of a particular knife, demand for such parts and the ease in which parts can be made for that knife. Things like the ZT0550 and 0560 many times had scales available for them. And there is a member of the forum specializing in custom hardware. A good place to check is bladehq.com. They are a dealer that supports this forum and if you got to their site and click on the accessories-replacement parts links you will find all sorts of scales made for spyderco, benchmade and ZT knives. Then you can see what strikes your fancy and buy a knife that has the parts readily available.

Thanks guys.

Seems like someone that anodized screws, thumb studs, and spacers would be handy.
