Which Rat knife would the Rat owners pick?

I would love to know what single knife the proprietors of Rat Cutlery would use for all purpose use in North America. A knife for every day use in urban society that could also function as an ideal survival tool should it need to do so? I am wonder which blade, ie. length, serations or no, and anything else that would be the ideal blade in there mind. I am currious what other Rat owners think, but really want to hear from the Mod.

Thanks

RC3 MIL for me......no serrations.

Easily EDCd, good enough length for most woodsbumming tasks......My favorite RAT.

How urban, the Izula would be a decent choice. Nice and small, rides good in the pocket out of sight, and can be used for some bushcrafting.

Well, I live in inner city Columbus, Ohio, and I'd say the HEST would be most suitable. It is named a "Hostile Environment Survival Tool" for a reason....

:D

I guess since you mentioned Urban & survival tool I would opted for the RC3mil plain edge. :D
low profile, the rc3 has the heart of the bigger RC blades in a smaller utility package.

Well, I don't care a fixed blade in urban situations due to the size, so I would have to go with the Izula as an all-around carry blade for everything. At least until our folder comes out! Personally, I'm carrying a Tim Galyean folder on me right now. Have been for several months. That's the only knife I carry every day, if you don't count my multi-tool.

Izula is the handiest, but I vote for the RC-3p as the one to have. Just an opinion of course but it is the one I feel most comfortable with as my "do it all, only have one" knife.

I think that the Izula is probably the easiest to stow and carry in an Urban environment, but the RC-3 or the HEST would be my pick for most useful.

A folding Izula would be perfect tho ;)

Please post a pic or site w/ pic of your Tim Galyean folder (curious to see). Last time I remember you had a Sure Fire folder. Do you carry a SAK, which?

I really enjoy my Izula for many reasons. It is hard for me to imagine needing a "knife", and the Izula not being up for the task. The Hest looks awesome, but I bet it would be much easier to conceal the Izula, which in some setting....may be a very good thing.

The fact that our moderator would be happy with the Izula over other larger models is good news indeed for us Izula owners. It is easy to get caught up in the bigger is better, and I bet in a jungle setting the choice would be different, but for most of us Americans a small knife is probably the best choice.

Thanks for playing men!

Well the urban qualification kind of nixes the big. Personally, I think the RC-3 is a much better knife than the Izula. However, the Izula has that size thing going for it so that's why I EDC the Izula. As much as I love my RC-3, the cultural sensitivities of office life prevent me from carrying a sheath blade around.

If you said outdoor/wilderness knife I would have pipped in RC-6. Same thing there, even in the wilderness the cultural element tends to favor the RC-4 being carried more. I'm talking camping parks as opposed to wilderness trails.

RC3mil (no serr) AND Izula

I live in NYC and the rc3mil is always in my edc bag. Izula is usually on me.

Depending on local knife laws...In Florida, my first choice is RC 3, horizontal belt carry, In Detroit, Izula, horizontal carry with Ruger SP101, 357 Mag in cross draw rig.

Nice.

Illegal in California to carry a fixed blade larger than 3", so I'd have to go with Izula. If given the choice though, I may have to go with RC-6
