Which SAK to buy

Reading these posts has bought back fond memories of my first SAK (long since lost). I think I will buy a new one. I work in IT and would like a mid sized SAK, not too thick with a decent philips screwdriver. Any suggestions. Also, which brand of SAK do you guys recommend, Victorinox or Wenger.

For that use, I would first think of one of the Victorinox CyberTool models. I like Vic more than Wenger, but it's up to you on that one. I prefer Vic scissors, for one thing.

I second the CyberTool. The CyberTool line are made for IT folks like you.

Specifically, take a look at the Victorinox CyberTool 34. The CyberTool 29 is thinner, but missing useful tools like the pliers and scissors; the CyberTool 41 is thicker, since it includes extra tools like a metal file/saw, a wood saw and a chisel. So for me at least, the 34 is the "sweet spot"; if you want light and compact, and use mostly the screwdrivers, the CyberTool 29 might work for you.

That said, I'm also fond of the CyberTool Lite, which is the CyberTool 34 with the addition of an LED light and magnifying glass. The light won't light up a room, but under a desk or in a wiring cabinet or inside a PC case, it does a great job of illuminating what you're working on with the driver, and doesn't take up an extra hand. It's the size of a CyberTool 41, though, and you said you wanted "not too thick"...

If you do need a phillips driver stay clear of the T handle models like the Hiker. I found that phillips to be pretty uselesss as you can't get in a confined space with it. You might look at the Rambler model as I think it has an inline phillips driver.

Thanks to everyone who replied to your thread. I was out shopping today, with the intention of having a closer look at one of the cybertools. Ended up buying a Swiss Tool X instead.
