Which Schrade do you want to add to your collection in 2009?

The one that I am determined to add this year is a "Mint" in its Original Box with Paperwork George Schrade "Pull-Ball"
I found one at a show last year, late in the day and decided to "sleep on it". When I returned the next day to purchase it, I found out that the vendor had left the show a day early.
I've had no luck finding the vendor or a Pull-Ball in this condition since.

What I'd love to find is a Schrade or Craftsman 2OT. More realistic is a C628 and/or an Ulster Old Timer Scout Camp knife to complete my Prince Albert Collection.

I would like to find an SC 504 "bigtimer" with the "scrimshaw" of President Jackson on his horse, and.... um.... about forty eleven other goodies!:)

i'm going to help davet63 out and watch for a 2ot!!!!!!! i guess there are so many i dont have that a good buy on any of them would be my wish----------happy new year of schrade collecting, seeya, brady

To complete my Old Timers I need a
2OT
9OT
14OT
19OT
41OT
53OTG -need a better example
126OT the stainless version of the 125, circa 91-95.
147OT (it has eluded me)
512OT the stainless 152 circa 89-92
902OT

I guess that is my wish list.
Maybe I can pickup a couple of these this year.

Happy Schrade collecting,
Dale

12OT (Ulster)
226OT (see my avatar)
The missing UH's I don't have.

... I can wait

I know an old collector who is adament that he has a 1OT and I'm first on the waiting list.<I know he was a Schrade factory door groupie for about 50 years so I believe if anyone has one he has>He's also got a lot of the Mirando collection.<I'm not referring to a former forum member>.What a grouping that would be 1OT,2OT and original 3OT!
lrv...how come Clemente doesnt list a 226OT?....you old "Son- of a- Gun"...oops thats a 225OT isn't it.? Hoo Roo
P.S. Someone may wish to swap a green Kious for an Aussie 2OT if we ever get the swap meet up and running......Hoo Roo.

I did a little thread a couple years ago about the 19,126 and 226 OT's. Roberts book was of those knives which ended up in a catalog which none of the above did. With a couple of exceptions he stuck to just that line. As we all know he could have doubled the number of pages in the book and still not covered all the knives.

I have asked said collector for a picture of the 1OT.. I'm still waiting. He's been on a few vacations and visiting friends in NY. Being retired has its advantages.
He also has my wish list! :D

Here is Codgers rendition of those knives

Schrade Old Timer Europe Editions Research
In early March of 1991, an order was received by Tim Faust, products Manager at ISC Ellenville, from the European sales office for five special Old Timer patterns for export only. These knives, designated “Product Family - Old Timer Europe”, were the19OT, 126OT, 226OT, 512OT, and 518OT, all based upon domestic patterns, but with unique tang stamps and stainless blades. All were specified to be placed in black varnished boxes with gold imprinting, and packed with a standard OT/UH brochure.

19OT - A two blade pen knife, stainless blades and springs, OT handles.
Est. Qty. 1991: 600
Total Produced: 1,835 Total shipped to Europe: 251

126OT - One blade Mustang, stainless blade, OT handles, same knife as 125OT except stainless.
Est. Qty. 1991: 1,000
Total Produced: 1,483 Total shipped to Europe: 637

226OT - Same knife as 225OT except stainless.
Est. Qty. 1991: 500
Total Produced: ??
Total shipped to Europe: 953
(A subsequent order for this pattern appeared in 1994 for 500 pieces)

512OT - Same knife as 152OT except stainless.
Est. Qty. 1991: 750
Total Produced: 2,181 Total shipped to Europe:25

518OT - Same knife as 158OT except stainless.
Est. Qty. 1991: 600
Total Produced: 2,246 Total shipped to Europe: 26

It is unknown exactly what became of these knives, other than the numbers shipped to Europe, except that some of the 19OT and 512OT have shown up on the U.S. market in regular production boxes, and they dwindled in the year end inventory without showing shipment to Europe. I am yet to acquire an example of the 19OT, 518OT, 126OT, or 226OT. No record has been found indicating that the subsequent 1994 order for the 226OT was ever filled. Oddly, the tangstamp order blueprint for the 512OT is dated 9-28-90. The whole story is as yet unknown.

...sent to Europe eh?...I better go back thru my knives.....I dont have an inventory as such and I keep finding knives I had no idea I had! i.e. I have found the significance of some knives I obtained early in the piece becomes apparent later as my knowledge expands.<same for most collectors I guess> Hoo Roo.

And mine.

I missed a Golden Spike in 1095 on the Exchange recently. Would love to find one of those.

Hopefully, more Schrade-Walden (S-W) Fixed Blades. Ones I don't have. I'm pretty much strictly an S-W Fixed Blade collector. Well, there's another brand I collect along with guns.

Sorry, I've been away for a couple weeks. I had to get a new computer. The old one died taking most of my pictures and inventory lists with it.

That's not a nice thing to happen, did anyone try and save your hard drive and remove your info?

Good tip Russell.

Hope you can still recover the hard drive Jackie. It would be a shame to lose all of your nice pictures.

For your new computer, consider investing in something like a MAXTOR One Touch. It is a USB connected external hard drive. It could be moved to a new computer any time. Small footprint. If you shop around on Ebay and you can pick on up for a decent price.

It automatically does a back up the folders I specify every night. I also drag a copy of my camera memory stick onto it when I "clean house" every now and then. Highly recommended peace of mind item.
