They are both great brands but I was wondering what I should get a BENCHMADE STRYKER with black T coating coboedge tanto blade or an EMERSON RAVEN with same features

please tell me a place to find these or tell me what I should get

PLEASE E MAIL ME AT Hero47@juno.com

I would take the Striker over the Emerson it feels better in the hand.

BM Stryker, and you might consider the plain
edge. Check with any of the BF online
sponsors for the best price.

Let me jump in here and add another vote for the Stryker. Benchmade, IMHO, has better quality control then Emerson(at least on all of the ones I have seen and held) and you won't be disappointed with the Stryker either.
If you like the chisel grind I would go with the BM975, you can still find them out there. If you like the double grind then the obvious choice is the Stryker.

Many of the BM linerlocks I' ve handled had blade/ liner rub strait from the box. That' s not to say that none of the Emersons don' t either. I' ve not actually used a Raven but have used a Stryker. My Styker(s) are the only BM that have no liner/ blade rub. Their actions are super smooth and lockup is on the money. I can' t say that for the AFCKs nor the discontinued BM CQ series. Go with the Stryker.

If money isn't the determining factor, try Chris Reeve. I have both Benchmade and Emerson and they don't hold a candle. (Now I will wait to be flamed.)

Benchmade Stryker, plain edge, they do not sharpen serrations, unless you do it youself that is. Very good strong tip, an all around solid knife.

Hmm.....that's a toss up. I'll say the Benchmade Stryker too, but I owned one like a few of us have I bet, so I'm a bit biased

I have a M2 Stryker that is about a month old. The knife was absolutly perfect out of
the box and still is . Got a Pardu Axis lock
last week and it is perfect also . The Pardue
blade has best ATS-34 heat treat I have come
across. It has become my daily carry and is
a really impressive piece . Pictures just don't do it justice . Benchmade offers the Stryker with a pure chisel ground blade if that is what you want.

I would go for the Stryker. I love the handle feel of it. The Raven seems to look odd, short blade, long handle.

MJB,

I don't believe anyone will ever flame you for recommending a Chris Reeve, unless you do it on the Customs forum

Scarman, don't go there, you'll get lynched

. lol

Anyway, my vote goes to the Benchmade 910 or 905 stryker. Ok, I'm a bit biased too, my stryker came perfect out of the box!

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

I am a new member, but I thought I would let you know what I think. I personaly carry both. I have a Benchmade Stryker with BT-2 coating and combo edge ( That is the knife I am currently wearing now ) I also carry a Emerson Raven with "tanto" blade with combo edge and BT-2 coating. I personally carry the Emerson the most and I think it is a little sturdier, but I love them both. I do find the Stryker a little more comfortable at times because it is a little smaller, lighter and rides lower on the clip. I hope this helps a little

Welcome Q-ball,

It is always nice to hear opinions from people who have experience with both sides.

Happy knife talk and enjoy the forums.
