I have a few Case Mid-Folding Hunters which have a backspring and liner lock, and it's a combination I really like.
The only other one I know of is the Queen Mini Hunter in Bird's Eye Maple.

Wondering if there are any similar knives currently available - that is, with a backspring and a liner lock?

Thanks in advance for any input.

The Queen Teardrop (Swell-End) has a liner lock as well as a stout spring. A very nice knife in the amber stag bone.

There was at least one vintage Old Timer model, a trapper, with a liner lock and full backspring. The model number escapes me at the moment, as does my own name from time to time. :)

The new (Bear) Moore Makers have a model.

It was a single blade Trapper. # was 194OT.

If I'm not mistaken, the Case Russlock has a backspring as well.

Boker makes the Copperliner and Trapperliner.

Case also has the CopperLock.

On second thought , the Case looks more like a small lockback.

I've also seen a few sodbuster styles with linerlocks, but I can't recall the brand.

Also there was the small 18ot,of which I do not have an example yet.
Currently available on eBay.(REAL USA Schrades like those above)

Or the Chinese version marked "Schrade" "Old Timer" as Imported by Taylor LLC who bought the Schrade name.

The Rough Rider sodbuster/work knife line all have stout backsprings and stout liner locks. Good value, those.

Thanks for the refresher, Todd A. I have each of those, including the 18OT, but they're on display at a local museum where I don't have quick access.

Todd I have one of those 125OT's with lanyard hole as well, I carry it quite often.
Do you have any idea how to date them?

Sorry,no I don't. I have only been bitten by the Schrade bug a couple of months ago.I still have alot to learn.

Most, if not all of the locking Vics have backsprings as well.
Not exactly traditional, but hope it helps.

There is a liner lock in some electricians knives to hold the screwdriver and wirestripper blade tight.

The older Gerber Sportsman line from the 70s like the PK knives all have the slip joint spring with liner lock of brass also.

Case is going to debut a new "TrapperLock" as seen on page 25 of the July Issue of Blade Magazine that just came out. Its a single blade Trapper with a liner lock and stag handles in the picture. It will be available according to Case in "PocketWorn" old red bone, India stag or synthetic yellow handle configurations all coming this fall.
