Got the fever for a small classic. Should I get the regular, micarta, or wood inlay? Kinda like the micarta, but the wood, sure looks good. Don't say both, I can only afford one. Would you pay alot more for a BG42 one?

personally, i would go for the micarta. they will hold up best over time and they look good.

here is mine...

When speaking of traits of a knife handle, 'texture' is a big one for me. The more texture one can have the better grip; clean hand, wet, dust, oil, etc. all play a factor. Basically, for a user I'm a fan of the straight plain blasted Ti handles. Add in some micarta I'm it gets better. Go plain or micarta.

.....but, then again, the wood does look nice with the handle and blade polished.

I would say micarta, but I prefer the look of wood. While plain Ti might have its advantages, for me, it's too plain looking. Of course, that is just my opinion only.

micarta for me, it is really grippy. Otherwise, I would prefer plain

Razor, what are you using the knife for? For heavy use, indeed the Micarta is tops in durability. I've have, however, been carrying a small classic in cocobolo. I've been very impressed with how it's held up, and it looks way classy.

Best of luck in your decisions.

I have been carrying a large cocobolo and it looks as good as the day I got it.

I don't work in hard a environment and I do take care of it. Feels great in the hand and looks good ;)

I EDC a small Sebbie, but it's a regular. The small plain classic did not give me a good grip. The small plain regular is fine for my work EDC. I had a small micarta classic that had a great grip. The micarta strips changed the feel of the handle just enough to make it work really well for me.

So... I would say go for some kind of inlaid handle. Micarta will be a tough user handle, but I'd bet that the other inlays will hold up pretty well if they're from CRK.

As far as BG42 vs S30V goes, the plain classic I traded away was a BG42. I prefer S30V just because I'm so familiar with it now. All but 2 of my users are S30V and it's been a great steel no matter who had made the knife. I've had BG42 from Spyderco and CRK. It hasn't outperformed my S30V knives in any way. It hasn't let me down at all, you understand... it just hasn't done better than S30V so I don't see any reason to pay more for a BG42 blade.

Plain for me too. I enjoy the simplicity of the design and have not felt extra grip was necessary.

I think I would like to go with the micarta. Someone said it makes the handles feel fuller, which I think would be good. Thanks everyone for the good advice. Wonder who has a good price on those?:)

I would get the micarta.

But, my EDC Sebbie is a small classic Dog Paws Sebbie.

The micarta is by far my most favorite Sebenza. Esp on the small, the plain is not wide enough for me but the micarta fills the hand great and give's a great grip.

Happens to look awesome as well. I like it with matte screws

I'm a fan of plain handles, but I'd go with micarta if I were to get anything on a Seb.

I would try New Graham.
