I am trying to decide between the SOG Seal Pup and the SOG 2000. I will mostly be using this knife for camping and hunting. Any thoughts or suggetions would be greatly appriciated! Thanks.

hi i have the seal pup elite and i love it the aus8a steel takes a razor edge and holds it in fact i just ordered the seal team elite haven"t gotten it yet but if it is anything like the seal pup elite I"ll be very happy for the money i think you will be happy with it

Get the pup, and make it the PE elite. The seal 2000 is too big for most camping and bushcraft chores and most definately too large for field dressing. Plus with the seal 2000, you'r stuck with those nasty serrations.

The Seal Pup and Seal 2000 is basically the same knife but in different sizes. The Seal Pup is in a much more manageable size while the Seal 2000's size makes it much tougher.

Nice first post from you.
But seriously Dude, I would be equally happy for you - whatever the choice.
Somehow, somewhere along the way, you could be wishing for the one you didn't choose...
That's the pain when confronted with a hard choice.
My suggestion is for you is to clearly reason out why you had come out with two knives of different lengths?
Normally, it becomes hardest to make a choice if the knife specifications are near similar.
In your case you haven't as yet quite decided upon blade length there muct be a personal reason to that.
Think about it more, dude.
Outdoorsmen are split in half between full length blades and mid-sized types.
There are things a long knife can do which a short one never can.
If you intend to hunt mostly, than a short or medium length blade gives you more blade control.
But if you don't intend to hunt for a living, then a full sized blade like the SOG 2000 would probably work out better as a general duties camping knife.
Hope this helps.
