I get no pictures. :(
Lots of "(Name) And Sons" cutlery firms used to be in Sheffield, England. At least a dozen over the years, I think.

@Jack Black Would probably come the closest to having an answer I think. However like afishhunter afishhunter stated there are allot of " " & Son knife makers out there. Also last names end in "son" it seems common. Fine looking old dagger, looks like something a riverboat gambler would have tucked away somewhere.

Would suggest it's probably close to a Joseph Allen & Sons around 1890's

If the knife has a total length of just under 8" it is possibly a lady's stiletto garter dagger

In looking at the close up picture of the blade stamp, it appears that the last four letters are "RSON". With relation to the "Sheffield" word below, it would seem that the total letters should be less than the 9 letters in "Sheffield". The only Sheffield company that I am aware of which matches those requirements is "Pearson" (S. Pearson & Co.) circa 1820 to 1965. The name could also be a retail name of some sort which would most likely not be listed in any books. This type of dagger was common from the mid 1800s up through the early 1900s. Enclosed is a similar example of a Joseph Rodgers dagger from 1912.
