Greetings my fellow blade lovers!!

Time to get a spyderco folder...but which one?

Spyderco Native

Spyderco Delica.

Spyderco Endura

Pros/Cons for each? Your personal favorite?

Which one for a great light edc blade that I can travel around town with and use it daily

I'd recommend the Delica. It's very lightweight and ergonomic. Plus, most states/cities allow a concealed blade up to 3 inches. It has a 4-way clip and the new models will finally be available with full flat grinds. I'd recommend waiting for those to arrive, however. I have a regular Delica 4 with a saber grind and am planning on sending it to Tom Krein for a regrind.

Hope that helps.

Those are Classics; can't go wrong with those.

Personnally, I'd go with a Para-Military. Awesome size; not too big for EDC but with a nice comfortable handle, and a nice blade - although a little short. Light knife, sturdy, secure locking mechanism. A winner in my book!

For a longer blade, the Military is top-notch. Heck of a slicer.

I have all 3, Delica, Endura and Native. Actually several of each. I would recommend the Delica. It just fits the hand better than the other two. Yes, I would get a full flat grind instead of the Sabre grind.

I owned the delica in stainless steel, the 4th version. Can't go wrong. I also own a caly3 in ZDP189, and the VG10 one isn't a slouch either. I love the feel of the caly3 over the delica.

Great post! I've been wondering pretty much the same thing. Just picked up a second hand Delica 4 off the forums. Can't wait for it to get here!

I had one of the G10 flat ground versions which was a great slicer but couldn't get over my paranoia about the tip strength. Spyderco has some great knives but those thin tips are my biggest turn off. Maybe I just underestimate them....

The Delica is a classic and fits in the hand so nice. I have a "Mutt" D4 with the Dark Green FRN scales and a FFG blade that is a darn good EDC.

I prefer the larger Endura with the emerson wave. I like the uniqueness of it.

Where can I find a delica with a full flat grind? Seems like most have the flat sabre ground...especially on amazon.

Im trying to keep it around $60 bucks or less too.

I have all three, the native is far and away the most comfortable of the three in your hand. Plus native is S30V if you are impressed by that.

Just saw a video of the Spyderco booth at the 2010 Shot show, they are bringing out flat ground Delicas and Enduras with FRN handles sometime this year, personally I'd wait and pick up one of the FRN flat ground Delicas.

The Sage 2 is too expensive.

Sigh do you know when the FRN with full flat ground it will come out? Is it that much better for everyday tasks?

Maybe I should get another knife in the meantime to if I have to wait a long time for the flat ground delica/endura.

The native won't be coming with full flat ground right?

I love these threads where a person asks about specific knives and people start recommending others. I'll play. Para-military or Stretch in zdp189.

Native is made in Golden and is S30V, best one by far, and sharpest. But this year there are full flat grind Delica's and Endura's available.

The Sage 2 is not cheap but it is well worth the money. What really makes it for me is the finger choil. Sage 1? it is less money then the Sage 2, and the same shape/profile.

Well... a lot to think about before deciding on what knife will do ya best. What will you be wearing most of the time? Where on your body do you want to carry the knife? What kinds of places will you be going, generally, and MOST importantly, what are you likely to want to cut?

If pants pocket carry, size and weight are important considerations. For some 3.5 oz is too much and 2 to 2.5 oz. is good. For others, a 5 ouncer is just fine.

There are so very many wonderful knives to choose from. But each is suited best to particular applications. You may well need more than one or two great knives! ;)

Think a lot about the answers to those questions and then you'll be in a much better position to make a decision on knives.

After much consideration and advice from others on this forum, I decided on a Sage 1 for more casual dress (jeans) and a G10 Dragonfly for light duty dressier attire. These are both awesome knives of great quality.

The Delica has been extremely popular for a long time, for good reason... as suggested above, the forthcoming flat ground Delica sounds like an excellent option.
