:) Hi. I asked this in a different forum and didn't get many responses so I thought I'd ask it here.

Which Spyderco wave pocket folder do you recommend for every day carry and the rare SD situation?

I'm thinking that in that rare SD event getting the folder out and open is of primary importance. Either when already in the thick of it, or, without telegraphing it while trying to evade or avoid the situation all together.

Or do you recommend a similarly priced high quality folder?

The waved endura is the obvious answer. Great knife for utility use, great knife for defensive use. The only reason I'd waver from the waved endura: 1. if the endura is too big for you, go for the waved delica; 2. if you prefer reverse grip edge-in, consider the P'kal.

endura 4 / delica 4 wave or the p'kal are great knifes !!!
delica and pikal are fits better in the pocket.

the waved endura came today. yes, very nice. lighter than i'd thought it would be. which is good. esp since i can see what looks like a stainless steel liner inside the handle. the blade is longer than i'd expected. overall, i'd say it will make me a nice edc tool. just under $50 via google product search. thanks for the recommendation.

the spyderco delica wave came today. nice. formidable.

as easy as it is to carry the endura, the delica is even easier. i've never tried carrying a pocket knife via clip. there is no reason not to try w/ the delica. the delica looks like it'd make a great trainer knife in this regards. as well as edc tool.

i expected to dismiss it as too small. but after playing with it a bit, i now call it formidable. it is small enough to look like a "pocketknife" of old. and therefore isn't as threatening as the endura or chinook III.

i could see a police officer not being threatened by it if it came out of the pocket, closed, in an "empty your pockets" situation.

again, under $50 delivered via google products search. and there is a matching, affordable trainer from spyderco, too, should you need one.

i can see why people like spydercoes.
