I am having a lot of trouble choosing a spyder that i would like to add to my collection of knives. Any ideas? which would you choose to add to the collection?

Why don't you start off with what knives are in your collection.

I own a Spyderco Native myself.

I have over a hundred, from the Mini Police necklace to the Hossum Forester. A little more information on your tastes might help narrow things down. Spyderco makes a pretty wide variety of folders and fixed blades. ;)

How about one of the new Spyderco Police 3 with G10 handle. That is a real nice folder. Good Luck! Kevin

Oh umm Yeah! I don't own any spyderco knives so you know. I like the curves of the persian and the cara cara as for the knives in my collection i have a few like the crkt fulcrum, crkt m60, cold steel spike talon, Benchmade skirmish, Puma hunters pal, muela storm tactical knife, Grohman small bird knife, a few bucks, its a small collection but its growing :) I recently got the benchmade skirmish from my wife for my birthday and am picking up a puma White hunter soon!

So those are a few of my tastes, i really like the look of the spyderco captian as well. But its hard to choose I am looking for something with a little more collectability.... I hope this information has helped.

Natives are a great choice, but if it's your first, you might try the old standards: Delica or Endura. Likewise, the Military or Police gets high raves. My next one will be either the Salt I or the Caly 3 VG-10. Now, if you go for Byrds, the Cara Cara has a lot of nice write-ups.

Flip a coin and buy one of those. Your biggest concern is whether it will be plain edge or serrations. I like plain.

Coins are strange in your area

Well, flip it a couple of times to narrow it down. You can't go wrong with any of them. If I had the money, I'd go straight to the Stretch II in ZDP189. That appears to be one of the very best. Ooops, there's one more coin flip for ya.

DJWall,

To make it easier for people to give you suggestions, here are a few questions you might consider:

Budget?
What will you do with it?
Blade steel preferences?
Lock preferences?
Handle material preferences?
Blade length?
Any special features you like (emerson wave, automatic, balisong, etc?
Color?
Name brands you like?
Any particular knives that stand out (maybe people can give suggestions based on what you like about those knives)?

Welcome to the forums:).

If you want something more collectible any of the sprint runs, such as the ZDP-189 Lum Chinese or White Micarta Goddard are probably good bets. Also, if you can snag an older model there are quite a few desirable ones. I recently got myself one of my dream Spydercos, a Terzuola Starmate, for only $150 because I got very lucky. It goes very nicely with my real Terzuola. :D

Get Persian. It is great knife. It is beautiful for display case and great EDC. Excellent ergos and slices like a laser. My second choice would be Caly3.

Moran fixed is in a class of its own. Love mine.I carry it cross draw near the buckle. Hardly ever know its there its so light.
