I currently have
2 Navigators (1 plain 1 serrated)
1 Meerkat (plain)
1 Ladybug (50/50)

I've been paying anywhere from $12 up to $30. I could probably pay $50-$60 if it is a stellar must have. I rend to prefer the leaf blades with a few exceptions. I'd like a military, native III, pro grip ss, lum chinese folder, jester (plain)....

I was hoping for opinions on what Spyderco knives you were the most happy with and why. Ad also what knife you would reccomend to someone in my situation (no pressing need for a knife, but a burning desire for lots of knives and not alot of cash).

Thanks,
N2

As you state to prefer leaf blade designs, look at the c28 line. FRN or SS Dragonfly.

I've been carrying and using my PE SS 'fly quite hard since Aug 20, 2001... no movement in the lockup, and I've killed the tip by my multiply reforming of the edge(thinning, convex, thinning again).

for about 40usd, it's a very useful and durable knife. I have mine on me 24/7, if not in the neck sheath than IWB.

I agree with VampyreWolf. For leaf blades check out the S.S. Dragonfly, or for a semi-leaf shape check out the Native I or Native III.

For something different, try a Delica. I prefer it over my Native for many reasons, and it is my EDC.

You have a lot of good candidates on your list. For myself, I might try and stretch for a more expensive one to see what its like.

Lum Chinese : one of my favorites, but not for everyone. I choose this guy a lot for my EDC. High quality in essence.

Millie: Everyone loves this one, perhaps the pinnacle of Spyderco. You would not be disappointed.

Native: my first spydie and an excellent middle-cost choice. The new S30V and VG-10 versions are great and fit the hand well.

Dragonfly: VW speaks sooth. I have my own and "gifted" the fly, and it is perhaps the most discreet little-big knife you'll ever need.

Good luck and enjoy your quest.

I belive the Military is the BEST production knife on the market with the Native for its price comeing in 2nd.

Save up a little bit more cash and get a Military. The Military is an outstanding knife and I'm sure you will like it. Pretty much all Spydercos are good. Some of my favorites are the Chinook (Original), Starmate (No longer made but you can still find them), Endura (If you only have $40.00 - $50.00, this is the one to get), Perrin Bowie, and Temperance Fixed Blade. I just bought myself a Ronin so, I'll post a review of it later.

I'd look at the Salsa. If you want to move to a larger knife, try an Endura. As people have already said, you can't go wrong with a Military, possibly the best Spydie out there. I'm currently carrying a full size Dyad as an EDC. Sometimes a PE Police. I've got two more Militarys coming and one of them will probably replace the Dyad.

Check ebay. A lot of Spydercos for reasonable prices.
