Which Spydie should be next?

I am looking for another Spydie that is "Gentleman" size to carry during work hours. I have already purchased an SS/PE Dragonfly and an Almite Navigator. I have a few others of varying brands such as Kershaw and SAK but I am currently on a Spyderco kick. My only parameters are that the blade be PE and in the two inch range (give or take a few 16ths), the handle be SS or another metal and that it have a clip. I have a couple of candidates myself but I want to hear some suggestions to help me decide. Thanks in advance. :)

I was going to suggest the Navigator, but since you already have one, how about the Mouse? I don't have one yet, but I keep reading good things about them.

SS Delica. Its' AUS-6 blade is about 2&7/8ths inches long.

Hey BadGuy, does the Meerkat come in SS? I had looked at one the other day but I am really drawn to the metals right now. I am looking at the Pride (USA of course). Easyrider I am thinking about the Mouse. I am watching two auctions on eBay involving Mouses (or would it be Mice?)right now. Glockman, I have an SS Delica already and love it. It is without a doubt my favorite blade. OK, any other ideas:) :)

I don't think the Meerkat comes in SS, but trust me, from a guy that goes out of his way to get the SS Spydercos. It's nice. The handle has an odd thumbprint style to it and it has one of the coolest thought out locks I have ever seen. You can hand it to friends and laugh as they try to figure out how to close it. The Pride is nice, I had one for a few months but ended up trading it, b/c I wasn't that fond of the no lock deal. But some areas and whole countries have laws against locking folders I guess, so it serves its purpose. Good luck and as I mentioned I would say the Meerkat is worth the dough

Try the Mouse or the Toad. Both will fill the gent knife role while being able to perform some real work too. Alot of people underestimate the Toad, but it is one of my all time favorites. The Mouse also has VG-10 which is great in a knife that size. I carry mine almost constantly. If you are willing to wait, I've heard that an integral lock SS Cricket is also coming out!

Yeah if you are after a Gents Folder, something small, Get the Kiwi, I don't know what the hells wrong with all of us above that we didn't mention that first when a smaller Spyderco is wanted. :)

It was my impression that the Kiwi does not have a clip. That had been the reason I was not considering it. Am I wrong?

The SALSA has a 2 7/16" blade, a Compression Lock, and anodized aluminum scales on the basic model, with gray titanium scales as an upscale option. It is an absoultely rock-solid little knife that is legal in federal buildings according to 18USC930, important to those of us who work as feds.

I realize that I am about to speak blasphemy, but I am not that keen on the Salsa. It's handle to blade ratio looks a little weird to me. I will admit that I have not held one although I have seen several in knife stores. With it's overall length being what it is I would just as soon get a Native or Calypso (but not for a Gent's knife). Please don't banish me from BF I am really enjoying the experience and knowledge that is shared here.In all seriousness am I just missing the point (pardon the pun) on this knife?

Interesting timing for the last post...

I think the "point" of buying a Salsa is that
its blade is most certainly shorter than 3 inches.
I have a delica I bought about 6 months ago which,
until recently, was a blade I considered to be the
shortest I would ever carry. I still love it, and
it's EDC most days.

But the blade on it seems to be a hair over 3 inches.
Maybe the new delicas are shorter - I don't know. I
do know that I wouldn't want to lose the knife to
confiscation because a LEO (or whoever) measures it, and
deems it to be longer than 3 inches. Besides, losing the knife
to confiscation could end up being only the beginning of some legal
hassles I don't care to ever have to deal with.

So, last week, after handling a Salsa at a knife show,
I bought one. It has a relatively large handle, so I
feel more comfortable holding it (vs. a dragonfly, which
has a handle too small for my hands). To me, it's
Spyderco's solution to wanting a seemingly substantial knife
(i.e. the handle is large) with a blade that's absolutely
shorter than 3 inches - but larger than a too-small 1 to
2 inch blade.

I like it much better than I thought. Originally, I wasn't
too keen on Salsas, either (I really don't care to
have a green, blue, cranberry knife!). I bought the "tan/brown"
color, which looks to me like grey - which is less
cartoonish than the other colors. To each their own,
in preference...but I like traditional black/grey in knife colors.;)
