Which Stretch?!

So I'm itching to get a new knife, and I settled on a Stretch, only problem is, I don't know which one to get. I am now choosing between a CF Stretch 2 or a Blue FRN Stretch. As some of you may already know, I have a thing for Carbon Fiber, but I was wondering if it is worth the extra $50 or so over the FRN Stretch. Everything else between the knives are the same (Blade shape, profile, ergos, blade steel) so my main issue is one handle material over another. Which do you recommend?

P.S. - Yes I know, I have to get both. I will in due time.

Go with your gut ;). If the CF handle is your thing go for that first.

It depends on your tastes and preferences. The CF definitely looks more elegant and its thinner handle lets it ride a bit more discreetly. On the other hand, I find the thicker handle of the FRN version more comfortable for prolonged use. It's also lighter than the CF version. Not a big deal to me, but important to some. Both offer equally excellent grip.

I'm gonna go with FRN. I like the look of CF but would rather spend the extra funds on another knife. It just doesn't offer enough advantage as an EDC and as Paul stated, the FRN is more comfortable for prolonged use.

From my searching its more like an extra $100. ZDP FRN is $100 give/take and ZDP CF is $200 give/take.

Other than price CF is fun and classy but FRN is nigh-indestructible which is a nice feature for any tool.

For what it's worth, my CF is a safe queen, the FRN is in my pocket.:)

Buy the CF Stretch while it is on sale for $140.35 . Just Google that amount and you will find it.

Thanks everyone. I will be ordering the CF later today. Pictures will come later.

LorenzoL, I already had that bookmarked, hence the $50 price difference. ;)

Yes, it is worth the extra $50 to get the one YOU REALLY WANT! Amortize that over the rest of your life, it's like $1c a day. Surely you won't feel that!:D

I like the way you think. Next time I buy an expensive knife I'll tell my wife it is only 10 cents a day.:D

It'll be here in a few days, some time next week. I can't wait. I love Spyderco Peel Pry CF, and this will be my first ZDP-189 knife. PICTURES WILL COME.

You will not be sorry, it's a great knife. Picked one up a few months ago, was looking for a decent knife in ZDP, the CF Stretch really jumped out as one to try. It is now part of a trio that spends a lot of time in pocket- Stretch, Sage, and CF Manix 2.
