Hi im pretty much new to SOG knives and was wondering if I could get some input. I'm trying to decide right now between Usage-size-materials vs money. I like the SEAL PUP due to cost but I also like the Tigershark. Also I was asking what as a starter SOG would be good. What would you suggest as a knife? I have an ok CRKT M16-13Z. But am looking for a better one. It has a good blade but like the look and sound of SOG knives. ANY help would be helpful.
thank you

Nathaniel,
If you like the Pup due to cost, and the Tigershark, due to size? Let me suggest a compromize. Try the SEAL 2000. You can usually pick them up new for around $100 if you shop around, or someone will be bound to have one for sale in the Knife Exchange forum.
Just my 2¢...

Hi Nathaniel,

Rob nailed it. The SEAL Knife is a great compromise. Any of the three are great knives. Get what you like within the budget you can afford.

Oh, BTW, welcome to the forums. You'll love it here.

Nathaniel,

If you are looking for a BIG knife, buy the Tigershark. (I have one, and I LOVE it!).:).

Like Ron said, the Seal 2000 would be a very good compromise between the compact Seal Pup and the monster Tigershark. Either way, you really can't lose with a SOG knife!

Hey guys nice idea! Thanks for the info and the help. I guess I will look into the SEAL 2k. My next question is what kind of sheaths can you get? Are there options when you buy them market? I'm sure I could look on the forum and find one easy but am wondering what you guys like best.

-thanks for the welcome Ron.

Hi Nathaniel,

Tactical-oriented Kydex sheaths come standard with these knives. If you want an after market sheath, there are some outstanding custom sheath makers out there.

To find a custom sheath maker, make your request in one of the following forums: the Custom Knife Forum, the General Blade Discussion Forum, or maybe even The Good, the Bad, The Ugly Forum (where people comment positively or negatively about products and their makers).

Best of luck with your knife search and purchase.

If there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

Thanks for the info guys. I've decided I will go with the SEAL Pup for now just because im low on cash. You thats the only thing that sucks. Food or BIG knife? well i have to comprimise ya now. Thanks for your help!:D

I wouldn't trust it. Two things. At that price, it's likely stolen. And, none shipped with a certificate of authentication.
