Hello!

I have been looking for a secondary knife to my Victorinox Pioneer. I dont really want to spend more than 75 dollars as my budget wont allow for it right now. Ive found a few choices so I will post those but I would love to see what else you can recommend or which of the knives you would choose. The knife will more or less be used for the larger jobs that the Pioneer cant handle. My requirements are that The handle and the blade need to be black, the blade has to be under 3.5"

Cold Steel Mini AK-47
Boker Plus Jim Wagner RBB Plain Edge
Boker Plus Armed Forces Tanto Folder II
Spyderco Native Black Blade Knife

Thanks again for the help

I have the full size ak47, I really like; though it is just too bulky to edc most days. I haven't handled the mini though, try to handle one in person then decide!

Does Jack know you are here? I can't help but think he does when you pulled the keyboard up in front of you.:foot::D

My suggestion is a Kershaw RAM. You should be able to get it in all black for around 50 bucks. It is a great knife with an awesome lock and pretty good steel that will get sharper than most others for me. Check it out as it is a great knife. It costs about a third as most of my other knives and gets carried just as often.

Not a Jim wagner RBB....I have a serrated one.....they don't have much of a use besides literally stabbing someone. Thus mine is NIB, maybe carried ..once.

Out of your choices I would pick the Spyderco. Great steel, great ergonomics and a all around great company. Beats the others by a landslide IMO.

So I decided to say screw my budget because there were too many compromises to be made. The choices I had all seemed kind of chincy after reading about them. The gimmic and bulk of the AK-47 started to bother me. The lack of ergonomics of the Boker, and the uselessness of the Jim Wagner left those behind. Then I was looking at the Spyderco. I mean it seems like a great knife, but the handle material and design on that just wasnt flowing with me. Also my goal is to have a black coating on the blade as well as the handle, the only option with this option in the Native was the "combo" edge which is almost all serrated edge.

So i decided to up my budget and get the Emerson Mini CQC-7B!!!!!
This think looks sick.

Have yo looked at the BenchMade griptilian line, there may be something in there that comes closer to your budget and fit you wants/needs as well. Just a thought, I love my mini grip 556.

I'd personally second the RAM. Such an amazing knife for the price, and the flipper/HAWK Lock combo makes for a very easy opening/closing mechanism and amazingly tight lockup. The black coated version goes for around $60-$75 depending on where you find it.
