I just recently started with trying to make knives, and seeing all these steel choices has me a littl econfused to say the least. A buddy of mine gave me a piece of D2, and using stock removal I shaped out an ok knife, currently being heat treated by Texas Knife maker. I was looking to purchase some more steel and see all these alloys/ types of steel and am wondering what would be good for a beginer to mess around with. I found a site that offers steel flatground.com, and I see a2 d2 o1 .... a bunch offered. just wondering which would be good to work with mostly for camp style utility knives. thanks ... matty
