Which UKPK to get?

Hey guys. I'm ready to get my next Spydie - a UKPK. :)

Bad news is that I can't decide which to get. I'm torn between the orange leaf version (with no jimped choil) and the new drop point version (with jimped choil). Additionally, the drop point only comes in green.

I'm planning on making this knife my new EDC. It will be used to cut envelopes, fruit/vegetables, small packages and some cardboard.

I'd like to have UKPK owners chime in and let me know what they would choose if they had the choice.

Here's the different pictures from Knifecenter.com:

I don't own either sadly, but I do like the leaf shape more. I've seen that style more and like it a lot too. Personal preference mostly.

Drop, in my pocket right now actually.
Although I do plan on adding the orange leaf UKPK once funds allow.

I carry a leaf shape bladed version as a light-duty office knife. I like the pointy tip for the oft needed fine work (splinters, etc.).

If I only was dealing with a single knife in a slightly harsher use, I'd probably get a drop-point for the apparently sturdier tip.

I would just get whichever blade shape looks more appealing to you.
Cutting edge is about the same on both. Either way you can't lose. :D

Drop point foliage green looks more appealing to me. If you're not totally set on the UKPK i'd look into the caly3. Its pretty much the UKPK with a locking blade. Comes in zdp-189 too!

I had the same issue as the OP.

I looked and looked and looked at the UKPK's -- and finally bought a Terzuola.

Must say I'm very pleased with it.

I got leaf shape Orange handle. I love orange color and I love leaf shape.

I was also torn on that decision, but with the help of the fórum, and already owning a couple of Calys, I went with the FG Drop Point, and am very glad to have done it. In fact, it's in my pocket right now, and have used it today half a dozen times. Although I EDC Millies and Paras, it's nice to come home and change to something "cozy"

Thanks for all the input guys. I've landed a sweet deal with a real nice user on the Spyderco.com forums. I'm awaiting my new orange, leaf blade UKPK! :D

I'll be sure to post pics and impressions once I get it and use it for a bit.
