Hi guys,

My first post! Just got the 5.11 Tarani C.U.B. Master 2.0 folding karambit, hence the name. Now i really need to wave mod it. Any ideas on waving this bad boy? All ideas welcome.

Vit :D

Welcome!

1. Put some zip ties in the opening hole.
2. Get a dremel or similar power tool and go at it yourself.
3. Look up Charlie Mike who is a craftsman/maker on here that excels at wave jobs.

I would recommend numbers 1 or 3. Good luck and pics when its finished!

Thanks! Definitely will update you, benchwarmer!

Done with the mods.

Ziptie Wave Mod. I stuck 3 zipties on it. Works about 13 times out of 15 tries.

Had to adjust the lockback spring as it was exerting too much force on the lockback hinge.

It is now smooth as butter.

Look up pictures of the Spyderco spyderhawk (and other hawkbill models) that people have waved for some ideas. If I were to buy a cub master I would just open the opening hole up like a hook.

Edit: here's the one that I was picturing, really like how this one was done, just the slightest amount of material removed.

Thanks for sharing! he definitely did an awesome wave job, only taking off a bit. Unfortunately, his demo video is not available anymore and i'm now curious how he took that bunch of metal off the top. Any thoughts on that?

While this isn't a kerambit... you get the picture.

My guess (or atleast how I would do it) is on my belt sander finished up with a hand-held grinder to make the undercut "notch".

The man himself! pleasure hearing from you, Charlie Mike, after all the stuff i've read. They say you're the wave guy and your photos confirm to me that you do a job at it too. Any chance i could send you my karambit for waving? I haven't decided yet but if so, how much would it set me back?

Thanks!
