I have seen the Coghans (sp?) at Cabelas and also the military issue version, but I have never used either. From what equipped to survive says, the kind with the interwoaven wires are superior, which I think is what the Coghans is. Does anyone have an opinion?

I can't answer your specific question, but I have a couple saws that are made of actual links with either saw or chainsaw style teeth on them. (I think one was called a "Pocket Chainsaw"). They work pretty well, but are obviously heavier and bulkier than the wire saws.

I have several of the Coghlans wire saws and I have that they are Identical to the other more expensive versions but they are cheaper.
They even have their own NSN# on the package No. 5110-99-456-2156. I see no difference in the quality from the other British saws I have got previous to the Coghlans saws and you wouldny know the difference! Cheers every one!
