Which Would You Perfer Protech or MOD?

Say no more, eh! Big, built like a tank, sharp, snappy. What more could you ask for?

Whoa, nelly! 1k posts!

the older MOD's were pretty good, i havent handled one of the blackhawk/MOD's though.

protech is pretty good, one of the better autos, i like microtec a bit better though,

honestly i am not just nutz about either one, though they are certainly 'ok', just a lotta stuff i like better.

What MOD? What Protech? If you want an OTF get a Microtech. the Only OTF Offerings from MOD are Microtech copies. Or just the 1. the MK 1 is Bulky and is shaped like a turd. Slow Firing too. OTS=Protech. OTF=Microtech. Don't Forget Dalton.

Protechs seems really really high quality, however not 1 of their knife seem to have adequate 'grip'- the handle's edge are smooth and no grip inserts... so on. Not exactly the most tactical.

It seems there are still some MOD knives online that's made in US, 154CM... not the Blackhawk AUS8, Taiwan stuff. MODs are more expensive than protech, is this justified?

Piranha. Bodyguard, Amazon, etc, better handles, fires fine, decent blade steel, lower price.

I've owned more than a few auto's throughout the years. The old MOD's (Hornet) is/was exccellant, never had much luck with MT's and owned several through the years. The Pro Tech's I have owned were excellant too. Paragon made a nice auto also and never had a problem with it either. keepem sharp

I have, and USE, a MOD 875 clip point auto on a regular basis. My main three EDC knives have been narrowed down to a MT Socom Elite, a Gerber 06, and the MOD 875.

The MOD 875 has some fantastic features for such a low cost knife (it can be had for under $120 shipped). Good steel, great grip, nice solid lockup. The stainless liners in the handles really toughen up the abusiveness of the tool as well. Overall, I have never had a problem with my MOD. Even the customer service is said to be top notch.
