So I am in the market for an EDC office/around the house type knife. I'm interested in a Delica, color undecided, or a yellow, serrated Salt. Both seem comparable with pretty much everything, besides steel. I know I'll hear that I should get both, which I might.. but interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks for your time!

Pics of both together are welcome!

For a general EDC blade, I prefer a plain edge. Based on that, I'd choose the Delica for the better VG-10 steel (H1 steel is better in serrated than plain edge applications). Good luck.

I'm with Shaggy! PE Delica for general use. I recently bought a Salt 1 off the Exchange and it's great but at this point I use it out in the yard more than anything. The Delica serves that purpose very well too plus it takes care of all my other cutting tasks.

For EDC I much prefer plain edge. And the VG10 will be a little better in that format.

I have Salt 1 with serrated blade but do not use it for EDC much. The blade is a mean cutter and I really like how it just chews through things.

If you don't cut a ton of stuff, a PE Salt is great (I can't stand serrations - too much upkeep). I used one for years. I do prefer the Delica though. Feels better in my hand in any grip, VG10 is great, and it cuts impressively.

I've never owned a Salt, but the Delica is just about as perfect of an EDC knife as you can get in my opinion.

looks like my choice is made, now for the color! Been eyeing the gray or gray green color. Thanks for the responses and the photo! BF rules

If you like the green, you can upgrade and get nicer (G-10) scales and a better steel for about $30 more. I love my regular blue Delica 4, FWIW.

Of course you could keep your eyes on the exchange too :)

Last Christmas I bought a Salt1 SE for an overseas trip and carried it exclusively for 4 weeks .
I lost it on the second to last day of my trip .
I cried not one single tear at its lose , and didn't contemplate replacing it for one second .
Buuuutttttttt..........
I do own quite a few Delica's and their numbers are still growing .

I like the Delica better for its narrower blade. I have the Pacific Salt PE in my PFD. I do really dig the knife and the steel is just fine given its corrosion resistance. I would buy another if I lost it. However, the PE (in my case, green) Endura finds its way into my pocket more than any other Spydie I own.

Delica all the way. It has kicked out every other Spyderco and CRK out of my pocket for quite a while now. I still shake my head in disbelief

I know, right? It is just a perfect design - gets it all done.
